    Abu-Ghazaleh Receives 2023 CSR International Excellence Award

    AMMAN – The Bahrain-based Regional Network for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has honored HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), with the 2023 CSR International Excellence Award as one of the most influential Arab personalities in CSR fields. A special CSR delegation has visited Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh in his office to present the Award to His Excellency.

    In his welcoming remarks, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stated that the message of the Hashemite Kings has always been a distinguished model of giving, love and social responsibility to serve the country and the nation, emphasizing the important role of social responsibility in his life. He referred to CSR as the fundamental message and mission he learned from the approach of the Hashemite Kings of Jordan, particularly His Majesty the late King Hussein, and His Majesty King Abdullah II.

    Further, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh gave a thorough perspective on the social responsibility role as a vital tool to achieve economic balance in society, stressing the pivotal significance of this concept, especially with the establishment of the UN Global Compact in 2000. In addition, he highlighted his contributions to this Compact as one of its co-founders by setting rules for the high professional practice on a global scale. His responsibilities as Co-chair of the UN Global Compact with the UN Secretary-General enabled him to considerably contribute to forming and enhancing principles of CSR at a global level.

    Meanwhile, the representative of the Regional Network for CRS, Dr. Mohamad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab university praised Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh’s ongoing influence at the Arab and international levels in various fields, with a special focus on social responsibility. He also expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to present Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh with the 2023 CSR International Excellence Award.

    It is worth mentioning that in 2014, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh was named the ‘International Ambassador for Corporate Social Responsibility’ by the Regional Network for CSR, in recognition of his pivotal role and tireless efforts in supporting community initiatives.

    It should also be noted that Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh's multi-faceted engagement in social responsibility, since the establishment of TAG.Global to the date of assuming his position as CSR International Ambassador, underscores his deep commitment to driving positive change and making a lasting impact in societies on a global scale.
