    TAGUCI Organizes ‘Role of Women in Leadership’ Panel, Offers Scholarships to Women Entrepreneurs

    AMMAN – Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University College for Innovation (TAGUCI) organized a panel discussion on the “Role of Women in Leadership and Entrepreneurship” under the patronage of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh in the presence of Guest of Honor HE Ms. Yasera Ghousheh, Minister of State for Institutional Performance Development.

    The panel is a part of TAGUCI’s continued approach in upholding corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, supporting women entrepreneurs and leaders and enhancing programs that empower and strengthen their social and economic standing.

    Patron of the event, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, underlined the important role women play in business entrepreneurship at the family, community and world levels, affirming that empowering women starts with women themselves and doesn’t need a man to do so. 

    Moreover, he reiterated his full trust in women and their abilities to excel, noting that his right-hand and Vice-Chair at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global is a woman, Ms. Samar AlLabbad, who deputizes for him in all-work related issues. 

    Deputizing for Ms. AlLabbad, Dean of TAGUCI, Dr. Muntaha Bani Hani delivered a speech on her behalf, stating that studies indicate that women entrepreneurs improve welfare for everyone, as they are the mentors and the cornerstone of societies. 

     “Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh granted me the opportunity and inspiration to become a more successful businesswoman than I have ever imagined. Without his progressive and open-minded vision of an advanced Arab world, I would have never had the same opportunity to take part in a great social, professional and economic awakening that opened doors wide open not for me only but to many of past and present generations,” Ms. AlLabbad stated. 
    For her part Bani Hani explained that TAGUCI operates in accordance with the vision of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh in giving more attention and support to women entrepreneurs; that is why the University College offered them 10 MBA scholarships for the first semester of 2019.

    Bani Hani pointed out that the scholarship covers the entire duration of the program in conformity with TAGUCI provisions, terms and regulations. Meanwhile, registration is open for the first semester 2019/2020. 

    Meanwhile, women entrepreneurs participating in the event reviewed their success stories and the challenges they faced in labor market accentuating women’s ability to assume leadership roles in all walks of life.

    Participants included HE Ms. Reem Badran, Ms. Valentina Qussisiya, Ms. Nisreen  Qatamish, Ms. Nour Al Mughrabi and Dr. Lana Mubaideen  in addition to Ms. Rima Diab, Eng. Ilham Zyadat and Ms. Malak Al Akiley. 

    At the end of the gathering, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh presented honorary shields to the participants.
    It is worth mentioning that TAGUCI is a University College specialized in applied business and information technology. It is an independent educational institution accredited by the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions. It focuses on providing the appropriate environment for youth to be leaders in IT and empowering graduates to innovate and create knowledge and transform it into marketable products.
