Abu-Ghazaleh Announces the Establishment of an Orchestra in Palestine

AMMAN - HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh announced a number of initiatives including the establishment of a national orchestra and a Music school for children in Palestine.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh affirmed that the establishment of a Palestinian orchestra that would participate in various musical events and occasions in the name of Palestine, is considered a valuable effort in safeguarding Palestinian national identity given that music is a powerful symbol of resistance and struggle.

The announcement was made during Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh’s meeting with the Palestinian educational delegation headed by Deputy Education Minister Dr. Basri Al Saleh.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh offered his patronage to the national drama and music school; a free-of-charge private school that is open to all Palestinian children who wish to learn music, located in Ramallah to be subsequently relocated to Jerusalem.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh decided to take the following several steps towards making these legitimate demands by the Palestinian people a success:
    • Seeking the assistance of teachers from the Jordan National Music Conservatory to teach music in Palestine, and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) shall bear all costs.
    • To make the required arrangements for the first visit of the Orchestra to China, to be followed by visits to Hungary and the Republic of Kazakhstan among other countries.
    • Accepting the delegation’s request for Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh to chair the Board of Trustees of the first Orchestra in Palestine that is affiliated with the school.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh noted that through the live streaming feature, Palestinian websites would be able to connect Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Business and Culture (TAGBC/102.7 FM) Radio Station to enjoy classical music which the station broadcasts 24 hours a day.
