"Work Ethics" Awareness Workshop for Youth at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society
AMMAN - Under the patronage of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, TAG-Knowledge Society (TAGKS) organized an awareness workshop on "Work Ethics" for a group of young people from various organizations, with the aim of raising awareness on ethical culture in the workplace.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stressed the importance of abiding by work ethics as a principle that impacts both the institution as well as the individual.
He urged the youth to benefit from the workshop by adhering to conclusions that contribute to the promotion of work ethics, proposing to form a committee to draft a code of ethics in the workplace. He also expressed his readiness to adopt the outcomes of the Committee’s conclusions and submit it to the concerned parties and decision makers through TAG-KS.
For his part, Mr. Fadi Al-Daoud, Director of "Youth Forum for Policy Development" initiative stated that the aim of organizing such workshops and programs for the youths is to build their capacity and prepare them to enter the labor market, noting the importance of investing in the youth.
During the workshop, participants reviewed the best practices to disseminate ethical culture in the workplace. They also discussed the concepts of conflict of interest, workplace harassment and violence, Code of Conduct, reporting procedure for violation of code of conduct rules, fraud, forgery, corruption and methods to detect and prevent corruption.
They also expressed gratitude to TAG-KS for organizing the workshop that highlighted the positive impact of ethical culture on both institutions and workers.
It is worth mentioning that participants consisted of representatives of organizations working in the field of youth empowerment such as INJAZ, Jordan Education for Employment, Elia Nuqul Foundation, LOYAC, and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
